The end of summer is as sad as the onslaught of Spring is joyful. Luckily in California we get a extension of summer in September and October. As obvious my blog has been on summer vacation and still will be for a week or so more. It's been a good surfing summer. amazingly warm water temperatures in Southern California, as high as 78 degrees in the Pacific Ocean in San Diego. If this is a result of global warming it is welcome in the short run, in a selfish way. Some future blog topics to ponder: We are nearing the mid-terms in November and the Democrats are ridiculously optomistic and almost gloating. Their memories are short in forgetting the power of the Republican propaganda machine in manipulating the media, and the voters. And their memories are short in the corruption of the voting process the Republicans have applied successfully in florida in 2000 and Ohio in 2004. Despite the oh so obvious facts that the last 6 years of Republican rule have led to not one factual success story, there is no consistent or visible message from the Demo leaders pointing out what an utter failure Republican rule has been........And then there is Joe Lieberman. What a loser he is. This man ( I use that word skeptically in his case) has no pride, no self respect, it's as if he's naked on his knees hanging on to Republican ankles saying "help me, I'll say or do anything you want, please, please". What a disgrace...... And speaking of disgraces, Bill Clinton popped up again, supporting Lieberman. I've always been a Clinton fan and supporter, but this turning the other cheek on his part for Lieberman's campaign was pathetic. Lieberman went after Clinton with such blatent self-interest criticism during the Monica/impeachment, it's amazing Bill could forget. It's going to get very nasty in 2008. The Demos right now have nobody, unless Gore runs, and if he does he needs to come out and say "I screwed up, I listened to my advisors last time. This time what you see and hear is what you are going to get". If he does that and sticks to his liberal values on domestic issues and shows strength on defense he would win in a landslide. But Kerry, Hillary, and Biden have shown zero leadership skills and will mean four more years of Republican rule.....On the Republican side it will be McCain or Allen, whoever the religious right annoints and whichever one plants the best kiss on Rove's ass. So far McCain has proven to be the best ass kisser, while holier than thou, Allen revealed what a southern cracker/bigot he really is in his recent "Macacca" description of a dark skinned rival. But when you've got Limbaugh, Hannity and Fox news and the White House on your side and more money than you can spend and experience in corrupting national elections successfully, it doesn't matter how low Bush's poll numbers are, the Republicans are still the heavy favorites.
